Ukrainian Military Reports Intense Fighting: 152 Clashes and Over 5,500 Kamikaze Drone Strikes in a Day

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports a significant intensification of combat operations across multiple sectors of the front line as of March 23. The ongoing high tempo of hostilities is evidenced by 152 separate engagements recorded since the start of the day, alongside numerous enemy attacks, strikes, and bombardments.

Since daybreak, Russian forces have conducted 51 airstrikes, dropped 160 guided aerial bombs, and deployed 5,567 kamikaze drones. Invaders also carried out 2,708 artillery strikes against Ukrainian troop positions and populated areas. The Pokrovsk sector saw the heaviest enemy losses, with 44 occupiers killed and 22 wounded. In that area, Ukrainian forces destroyed 3 vehicles and 5 pieces of special equipment, while damaging 6 more automotive units. Additionally, 147 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of various types were neutralized or suppressed on this front.

Areas of Combat

On the North-Slobozhanske and Kursk fronts, Defense Forces repelled 13 enemy assaults. The adversary launched 94 artillery strikes, including one using multiple launch rocket systems. On the South-Slobozhanske front, Russian troops attempted six assaults near Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Starytsia, and Okhrimivka. In the Kupiansk sector, six enemy attacks were recorded near Petropavlivka, Borivska Andriivka, Novoplatonivka, and Bohuslavka, with one engagement still ongoing.

On the Lyman front, the enemy attacked three times near Dibrova and Drobysheve, where one battle continues. In the Sloviansk sector, Russian forces made seven attempts to advance in the areas of Yampil, Rai-Oleksandrivka, Platonivka, and Riznykivka. On the Kostiantsynivka front, occupiers launched 16 assaults near Kostiantsynivka, Pleshiivka, Illinivka, Kleban-Byk, Sofiyivka, Ivanopillia, and toward Novopavlivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Defense Forces repelled 27 enemy assaults in the areas of Toretske, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Hryshyne, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Molodetske, and toward Novooleksandrivka and Svitlohirske. Three engagements here remain unresolved. On the Oleksandrivka front, Russian troops made ten attempts to improve their tactical position by attacking near Oleksandragrad, Stepove, Novohryhorivka, Krasnohirske, and Zlahoda, where two battles are still in progress.

On the Huliaipole front, 16 attacks occurred in the areas of Olenokostiantynivka, Zaliznychne, Huliaipole, Varvarivka, Zelene, Sviatopetrivka, and Myrne. The enemy also conducted airstrikes near Verkhnia Tersa, Vozdvyzhivska, Babashi, Danylivka, Zalyvne, Huliaipilske, and Dolynka. One engagement continues in this sector.
