Ukrainian Military Reports 283 Combat Engagements in 24 Hours, Intensified Fighting in Pokrovsk Sector

In its daily operational update for February 8, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported 283 combat clashes across the country over the past day. The most intense fighting was concentrated in the Pokrovsk sector, where Russian forces launched 63 separate assaults. The enemy made extensive use of missile and aviation assets, alongside kamikaze drones, in these attacks.

Specifically, Russian forces carried out one missile strike involving six missiles. They also conducted 50 airstrikes, releasing 144 guided aerial bombs. Furthermore, the enemy deployed 2,211 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,061 artillery and mortar attacks on Ukrainian troop positions and settlements.

Active Combat Across Multiple Fronts

On the South-Slobozhanske front, Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy attacks while enduring 57 artillery bombardments, five of which involved multiple launch rocket systems. In the Kupiansk sector, 13 assaults were halted, and 22 attacks were stopped in the Lyman sector. Ukrainian forces also thwarted 14 enemy attempts to advance in the Sloviansk direction. Near several settlements on the Kostiantynivka axis, occupiers stormed Ukrainian positions 30 times.

Fighting continues in numerous locations, particularly in the Pokrovsk sector where the enemy attempted to push forward near Rodinske, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, and other areas. This intense combat marks the 1,446th day of Russia's full-scale invasion, underscoring the war's protracted and grinding nature.

The frontline situation in Ukraine remains critical, with active combat operations indicating a persistently high level of intensity. Facing relentless attacks, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to defend their positions actively, demonstrating resilience and preparedness for a prolonged struggle.
