Ukrainian General Staff Report for February 20
The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff has released its daily operational update. According to the military, a total of 130 combat engagements occurred on this day. Russian invasion forces carried out 65 airstrikes, launched one missile strike, and dropped 161 guided aerial bombs. In total, Ukrainian towns, villages, and military positions came under fire 2,249 times, while Russian forces also deployed 5,115 one-way attack drones.
Frontline Situation
On the Pokrovsk front, Ukrainian forces eliminated 48 occupiers and wounded 33 others. The following enemy equipment was also destroyed:
- 96 unmanned aerial vehicles
- 4 motor vehicles
- 3 pieces of special equipment
- 5 all-terrain vehicles
- 2 artillery systems
- 2 personnel shelters
Russian forces, however, conducted 22 assault attempts, trying to advance near the settlements of Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, and in the direction of Novooleksandrivka and Kucheriv Yar.
The situation remains tense across other sectors of the front. On the North-Slobozhanske and Kursk directions, two combat clashes occurred, with the enemy launching two airstrikes and 57 artillery strikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements. On the South-Slobozhanske direction, Russian troops attempted four assaults. On the Kupiansk axis, seven attacks were recorded, including near Pishchane and towards Novoosynove and Kurylivka.
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled seven Russian assaults, with two more engagements ongoing. On the Sloviansk direction, the enemy made eight attempts to advance, while on the Kostiantynivka axis, occupiers attacked Ukrainian positions 15 times. Two attempts to improve their tactical position were recorded on the Oleksandrivka direction, and 18 enemy assaults were reported on the Huliaipole axis.
On the Orikhiv front, Russian forces attacked twice near Stepove and Mali Shcherbaky. This intense fighting marks the 1,458th day of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, a conflict characterized by relentless combat and significant losses on both sides. The sheer volume of attacks underscores the critical need for sustained international military support to help Ukraine defend its territory.
