Life and Rescue Work


Ilya Kaminsky is the head of the rescue department of the Emergency Rescue Unit in the city of Uman. He has felt a calling to rescue work since childhood, as his great-grandfather was a firefighter. After being conscripted into the State Emergency Service in 2023, Ilya mastered climbing and became part of a team that risks their lives performing dangerous tasks at height during the war.


Throughout his career, he has assisted in eliminating the consequences of strikes in Smila and at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. Ilya notes that in such challenging conditions, where every minute matters, it is important to act quickly and sensibly. Having faced death and injuries from traffic accidents, he emphasizes the complexity of his work, which requires not just endurance and speed but also maximum caution.

This year, Ilya Kaminsky got married, and together with his wife, he dreams of traveling and peace in a country where places for rest and love are limited.
