Andrii Pilshchykov: A Ukrainian Hero
Andrii Pilshchykov, a military pilot who used the call sign 'Juice,' made a profound impact on Ukraine's history. He was born on February 3, 1993, in the city of Kharkiv. After graduating from Gymnasium No. 116 in 2010, Andrii enrolled in the Kharkiv Aviation Institute, where he studied from 2011 to 2016. During his studies, he underwent vision correction after his first year.
Military Service and Death
Upon completing his education, Andrii signed a military service contract and joined the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade. He was distinguished by his professionalism and dedication to his duty. Andrii was killed on August 25, 2023, near the village of Synhuriv in the Zhytomyr district of Zhytomyr Oblast. His funeral was held on August 29, 2023, in the city of Kyiv.
The rank of Major in the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was posthumously conferred upon Andrii, and in 2024 he was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. In 2024, the 40th Brigade in which he served was granted an honorary designation, underscoring his merits and heroic actions in the defense of the country. His call sign, 'Juice,' became widely recognized as a symbol of the skill and sacrifice of Ukraine's air defenders.
