Oleh Myronenko Takes on New Role
Colonel Oleh Myronenko has been named Deputy Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine under a decree signed by the President of Ukraine on June 3, 2026 (No. 470/2026). Prior to this appointment, he served as the commander of the 14th Operational Brigade of the National Guard, known as 'Chervona Kalyna'.
Myronenko’s Military Journey
Myronenko first joined the service in 2014 and took part in combat operations in eastern Ukraine. In August 2025, he was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine along with the Order of the Gold Star.
This appointment underscores the value placed on battlefield experience and professional achievements in Ukraine’s military leadership, especially amid ongoing security challenges. Myronenko’s prior combat involvement and national recognition are expected to influence the National Guard’s future strategies for maintaining stability and public order across the country.
