The Buiucani District Court in Chisinau today, August 5, handed down a verdict to the head of Gagauzia, Eugenia Gutsul, of seven years in prison. She was found guilty of violating campaign financing rules and managing funds received from the banned party 'Shor' in Moldova. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing local media.

According to them, the prosecution confirmed that Gutsul violated campaign financing rules and managed money from the 'Shor' party. The investigation claims that from 2019 to 2022, Gutsul received over 42.5 million lei from the Kremlin, which is approximately equivalent to 200 million rubles.
We remember that in March, Eugenia Gutsul, known for her pro-Russian views, was detained in Moldova. These events preceded the disappearance of other pro-Russian figures such as deputies Alexander Nesterovsky and Irina Lozovan.
The head of Gagauzia, Eugenia Gutsul, who was found guilty of financial violations and managing illegally received funds from the banned party, received a sentence of 7 years in prison.
