Globus Bank Joins SvitloDIM Initiative

Globus Bank has become the official banking partner for the state-run SvitloDIM program. This initiative provides funding for the purchase of autonomous power supply equipment for multi-apartment residential buildings. The program launched on January 28 and is currently active for Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Its primary goal is to assist building co-owners in securing backup electricity during prolonged power outages, a critical need for many communities.

Financial aid recipients can receive between 100,000 and 300,000 Ukrainian hryvnias, with the amount depending on the building's number of floors and entrances. The state funds are transferred to special-purpose accounts, which can be opened at Globus Bank. These accounts allow the money to be used specifically for purchasing:

  • Generators
  • Inverters
  • Batteries
  • Battery management systems
  • Solar panels

Applications for the program are submitted online via the Diia portal. Co-owners have the freedom to independently select their preferred equipment and suppliers. Once an application is approved by a commission from Ukraine's Ministry of Communities and Territories Development, the funds are transferred within 48 hours. The SvitloDIM program is implemented in cooperation with Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation and is inviting other banks to join the initiative as partners.

Significance of the Program

The SvitloDIM program represents a crucial step toward ensuring the energy independence of apartment buildings amidst an unstable power supply situation. It not only offers financial support for implementing alternative energy sources but also encourages building co-owners to take an active role in improving their residential infrastructure. Given the ongoing challenges related to energy constraints, the execution of this program could be vital for guaranteeing uninterrupted power for numerous households across the region.
