Pension Fund Chief Urges Young People to Join the Public Sector

Директор Пенсійного фонду закликає молодь до роботи в державних установах.

Event: 'Public Service Promotion Day'

On May 14, 2026, Ukraine hosted an event called 'Public Service Promotion Day,' organized by the National Agency of Ukraine for Civil Service Affairs in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme in Ukraine. The initiative aimed to promote public service careers among young people and to discuss internship and career growth opportunities within government bodies. Top officials from state agencies, local government representatives, and young participants attended the gathering.

Key Discussions

The discussions took place during a panel titled 'Public Service Without Myths: Leadership and Responsibility – How Tough Decisions Are Made,' which tackled pressing issues in the government sector. During his speech, Yevhenii Kapinus, Chairman of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, highlighted the need for transformation in public service, stating:

“Public service is undergoing rapid change and demands modern solutions, fresh expertise, and a readiness to evolve.” – Yevhenii Kapinus

Kapinus also encouraged young people to view government work as a promising path for professional growth, emphasizing that “working in the public sector, particularly at the Pension Fund of Ukraine, offers a chance to drive meaningful reforms and see the tangible impact of your efforts.” He noted that this field brings together skilled and motivated professionals who can contribute to the country's development.

The 'Public Service Promotion Day' event underscores the importance of drawing young talent into government roles—a vital step for ensuring effective governance and advancing social change in Ukraine. Boosting youth interest in public sector careers could lead to higher-quality state services and greater public trust in government institutions.
