Rules for Ordering License Plates in Ukraine
The Main Service Center of Ukraine's Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued a clarification for drivers regarding the rules for ordering vehicle license plates. Only companies that possess a special permit and are listed in an official register are authorized to manufacture license plates. Ordering plates from firms not on this official list constitutes a violation of the law.
The Service Center highlights that the register of authorized businesses is updated continuously. Therefore, drivers are strongly advised to verify a company's legal status before placing an order for license plates. In cases where a plate is lost, stolen, or damaged, vehicle owners must contact the Service Center and follow the official state registration procedure.
The Importance of Legal Compliance
Current Ukrainian legislation does not provide for the creation of duplicate license plates.
Ordering license plates from businesses that lack MIA authorization or are not included in the official MSC MIA list is a violation of the law and may lead to legal consequences, stated representatives from the Service Center.
To find a legitimate manufacturer, drivers should visit the MSC MIA website, navigate to the 'Services' section, select 'License Plates. Manufacturing and Storage,' and locate the 'Business Entities' subsection. This process helps avoid potential legal issues. Navigating vehicle registration rules can be complex, and using unauthorized services is a common pitfall.
This information underscores the critical importance of adhering to the law in matters of vehicle registration. Drivers must exercise caution when selecting a supplier for license plates, as this choice can impact not only the legality of their actions but also lead to future legal repercussions. Understanding the rules and procedures established by the Ministry of Internal Affairs will help avoid unnecessary financial costs and legal problems down the line.
