Googlebook Now Available for Pre-Order
Google has announced the start of pre-orders for its latest laptop, the Googlebook, which integrates the advanced Gemini artificial intelligence model. Positioned as a superior alternative to the Chromebook, the Googlebook will be available for purchase starting October 4 in the United States, followed by October 5 in countries including Canada, the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, and Australia. The device is priced at $899 USD, roughly equivalent to 40,200 UAH. Buyers will also receive a 12-month subscription to Google AI Pro, offering 5TB of cloud storage and access to Gemini Advanced tools.
Googlebook’s Key Features
The Googlebook runs on an Android-based operating system enhanced with desktop Chrome and ChromeOS elements. Leading manufacturers such as Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo will produce flagship models. The laptop’s chassis combines aluminum, magnesium alloy, and carbon fiber, ensuring both durability and lightness. It boasts an OLED display with up to 2.8K resolution, glass touchpads with haptic feedback, and backlit keyboards.
Battery life reaches up to 14 hours on a single charge. Its standout AI feature, Magic Cursor, enables users to select website sections for processing, scan emails for suspicious content, merge images, and perform various other tasks. Another tool, Rambler, assists in organizing dictated text. The laptop supports widget creation based on user descriptions and includes Gemini Spark and Gemini Live functionalities. Google plans to provide updates for the Googlebook over the next decade. However, the release date for Ukraine remains unannounced.
