The upcoming winter of 2025-2026 is forecasted to bring extremely harsh weather for Europe, including Ukraine. The international meteorological portal MkWeather warns of record frosts and heavy snowfalls.

Meteorologists predict that the winter will be divided into two phases. December is expected to be stormy and wet, predominantly in Western Europe. January and February promise Arctic cold snaps, particularly severe in February.

During the winter of 2025/2026, a snow cover above average has already been observed in Siberia. This indicates that the eastern flow to Europe will be stronger than usual.

Experts warn that Italy, Greece, and the Balkans may also feel the consequences of intensified weather, with storms, downpours, and snowfalls.

Ukraine, as one of the coldest parts of Eastern Europe, will be in the zone of highest risk. The winter will start relatively mild, but in January and February, a strengthening of frosts and snowfalls is expected, leading to a stable snow cover.

Particularly cold may be the winter in the central and eastern regions of the country, where record low temperatures are predicted.
