Planned Power Outages in the Kyiv Region

On March 11, 2026, scheduled power outages will be implemented in the Kyiv region. Certain consumer groups will experience electricity cuts during specific hours, while others will have uninterrupted power throughout the day. Hourly power outage schedules are also planned for a number of other regions across Ukraine. These measures are part of ongoing efforts to manage the strained national energy grid.

According to information from the company DTEK, the power outage schedule for the Kyiv region is as follows:

  • Group 1.1 – power off from 16:00 to 17:00;
  • Group 1.2 – power off from 16:00 to 17:00;

Ukraine's Energy Sector Challenges

Furthermore, Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Valentyn Mondriivskyi, noted that the total estimated need for the restoration and modernization of Ukraine's energy sector over the next ten years is USD 90.6 billion. This figure is 34% higher than previous damage assessments. In parts of Ukraine on March 11, hourly power outage schedules and power limitation schedules for industrial consumers will be in effect from 08:00 until the end of the day.

The implementation of these outage schedules in the Kyiv region underscores the persistent energy challenges facing Ukraine, largely stemming from the urgent need for infrastructure modernization. The cited USD 90.6 billion requirement for sector recovery highlights the critical importance of supporting energy stability in the country. While the introduction of hourly restrictions for both households and industry may be a response to these challenges, it inevitably impacts daily life and economic activity in the affected regions.
