Planned Power Outages in the Kyiv Region for February 4
DTEK, the regional energy company, has announced that scheduled power outages will be in effect across the Kyiv region on February 4, 2026. These planned disruptions are part of a nationwide effort to manage the strained energy grid, following similar hourly blackouts and industrial power restrictions that were applied across all Ukrainian regions on February 3, 2026. These measures are a direct consequence of targeted attacks on the country's energy infrastructure.
Outage Schedule by Consumer Group
The power cuts for the Kyiv region are organized into six consumer groups, or "queues," with specific schedules:
- Group 1: Electricity will be unavailable from 03:00 to 10:00 and again from 13:30 to 20:30.
- Group 2: Follows an identical schedule to Group 1.
- Group 3:
- Subgroup 3.1: Outages from 00:00 to 03:00, 06:30 to 13:30, and 17:00 to 22:00.

"The occupiers have attacked combined heat and power plants, which provided heating for districts in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro." — Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal
For Ukrainians, adapting to scheduled blackouts has become a grim routine of wartime life. The assault on energy facilities, particularly those providing both heat and power, severely impacts residential areas and underscores the critical need for a stable energy sector during conflict. These restrictions pose significant challenges for businesses and households alike, complicating daily life for the entire population.
