Heat in Greece: +40 degrees expected as early as Tuesday
Greece is preparing for a long and intense heat wave that will cover most of the country starting from Wednesday. According to meteorologists, the air temperature will significantly exceed +40 degrees. This was reported by 'Glavcom' citing Ekathemirini.
Meteorologist Todoris Kolidis noted that noticeable overheating will start on Sunday and Monday, but the full impact of the heat will come from Wednesday. It is forecasted that the temperature will rise above 41-42 degrees across the country, with the maximum expected on Wednesday and Thursday.
Greek authorities urge to take precautions due to heat
Extreme temperatures are expected to persist at least until Friday, July 25, and in some regions, they may be even higher due to specific conditions. Although the heat will ease in most of the country by Sunday, July 27, in some areas it may continue.
The Greek government urges citizens to take precautions, avoid excessive physical exertion outdoors during the hottest hours, and drink enough water.
Greece is expected to experience prolonged heat with elevated temperatures that may last until the end of the week. Meteorologists advise taking necessary measures to prevent overheating and to follow government recommendations to maintain health in the scorching heat.
