Official Exchange Rates for June 28, 2026
The National Bank of Ukraine has released its official foreign exchange rates for June 28, 2026. Compared to the previous day (June 27, 2026), the official rates for the US dollar, euro, British pound, Polish zloty, and Swiss franc remained unchanged. The official rate for the US dollar stands at UAH 44.92, the euro at UAH 50.92, and the Polish zloty at UAH 11.87.
According to the NBU, the official exchange rate for banks was set at UAH 44.9229 for the US dollar, UAH 50.9201 for the euro, UAH 59.0871 for the British pound, UAH 11.8753 for the Polish zloty, and UAH 55.2353 for the Swiss franc. Rates at commercial banks also showed stability:

- At PrivatBank, the dollar rate stood at UAH 44.45/45.05, while the euro rate was UAH 50.92/51.55.

Hryvnia Performance and Insurance Sector Reforms
Over the past week, the hryvnia strengthened against most major foreign currencies. The Polish zloty saw the sharpest decline during this period, while the official US dollar rate experienced a slight increase. The NBU also approved a broad update of regulations for the insurance sector, revising the authorization process for insurance intermediaries in the registry and adjusting requirements for selling insurance and reinsurance products. Additionally, a decision was made to conduct an operation exchanging banks' non-cash currency for cash.
The stability of exchange rates set by the National Bank indicates a relative equilibrium in the currency market.
The recent uptick in the US dollar rate may signal potential shifts in the macroeconomic landscape, but the hryvnia's appreciation against other currencies—particularly the Polish zloty—points to positive economic trends. The overhaul of insurance sector rules could improve regulation and enhance transparency in that industry, which is also a key factor for the stability of the financial system.
