Records of new car sales in Ukraine
December 2025 became a record month for the Ukrainian car market: 12.4 thousand new cars were sold, the highest figure since March 2014. The main reason for the increase was the anticipation of the return of taxes on electric vehicles. Sales of new cars in Ukraine increased by 50% compared to November 2025, and compared to December 2024, this figure rose 2.2 times.
Sales Leaders in December 2025
The leader in sales in December 2025 was BYD, which sold 3,164 cars. Volkswagen came in second place with 1,298 cars sold, while Toyota took third place with 1,117 new cars sold. Skoda ranked fourth with 969 cars, and Zeekr was fifth with 844 cars.

In total, in 2025, the Ukrainian car fleet was replenished with 81.3 thousand new cars, which is 17% more than in 2024. This data indicates positive trends in the Ukrainian car market and a growing interest in new models, particularly electric vehicles.
The increase in new car sales in Ukraine in December 2025 reflects both economic changes and shifts in consumer demand. Expectations for the return of taxes on electric vehicles may stimulate further development of the electric transport market, which is an important step towards reducing emissions and transitioning to more environmentally friendly transportation methods. This may also indicate a restoration of consumer confidence in the market after the challenging economic conditions observed in previous years.
