Hutsul Ensemble Artists Beaten After Tour
After a successful tour in Poland and Finland, the artists of the 'Hutsul' ensemble became victims of an attack in the city of Sheptytsky in Lviv Region. Six young men and three girls broke into the bus where their group was and began beating them. This was reported by artistic director Vasyl Sheremeta.
During the attack, the artists sustained numerous injuries, including broken noses, bruises, and concussions. One of the injured requires surgery due to a complex fracture. The group's administrator was also hurt: she suffered rib injuries and severe stress. The attackers also damaged the bus's property and continued their aggressive behavior upon the arrival of the police.
Police Did Not Detain the Attackers
Despite the fact that the police were called, the criminals were not detained. Law enforcement did not take any measures against the attackers and acted quite passively. The 'Hutsul' artists appealed to law enforcement and called for an objective investigation into this incident.
'We appealed to the police. But we have serious concerns about the actions of the law enforcement officers who arrived at the scene. In the video and photographs, it is clear (sorry for the foul language) that after the attack, the attackers were not detained, while the police calmly communicated with them (hands in pockets), despite the insults and aggressive behavior from their side. We filed a statement. The injuries have been documented. We expect an objective and public investigation into this matter.'
It is worth noting that a member of singer Nadiya Dorofeeva's team, dancer Yevhen Honcharenko, commented for the first time on the situation that happened with his fighter, who beat him in the summer of 2021. At that time, Yevhen was 22 years old.
After the successful tour of the 'Hutsul' ensemble in Poland and Finland, the artists were attacked by criminals on their return to Lviv Region. The attackers beat the artists, inflicting numerous injuries, and called the police afterward. However, law enforcement did not provide adequate assistance and did not detain the attackers. The artists called for an objective investigation into the incident and pushed this case further.
