Demining Operations in Action
A combined demining unit from Ukraine’s National Guard has surveyed close to 12,000 hectares of land across the country. During these efforts, personnel located and eliminated 4,297 explosive devices.
Russian forces leave behind not only destruction but also hidden dangers buried in the ground. In response, National Guard teams deploy specialized equipment and canine assistants to neutralize these threats. Their work is crucial for protecting civilians and enabling the recovery of affected areas.
Why Demining Matters
These demining operations are a vital step toward restoring normal life in liberated regions. They reduce risks for local residents and pave the way for rebuilding infrastructure and allowing people to return home. Systematic clearance efforts help gradually reestablish safety and stability in areas impacted by conflict.
