Attack on Kharkiv
In the early hours of May 2, Russian forces launched a drone assault on Kharkiv using explosive unmanned aerial vehicles. Debris from a Shahed drone struck a 12th-floor apartment in a high-rise building located in the Shevchenkivskyi district. A man sustained shrapnel wounds to his chest, but fortunately, the drone did not detonate, preventing far more severe destruction and loss of life.
Emergency crews and rescue teams are currently operating at the scene. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov commented on the incident, stating:
“Fortunately, the Shahed did not explode—this allowed us to avoid much more serious consequences.” — Ihor Terekhov
He also remarked, “Looking at these images, it’s hard to believe there was no tragedy here.”
Growing Threat from the Aggressor
That same night, the port infrastructure in the Odesa region also came under attack, highlighting the increasing danger posed by the aggressor across the area.
