Drone Attacks Strike Kharkiv
Kharkiv faced another series of drone attacks over the course of the day. Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported several hostile strikes, one of which targeted a garage cooperative in the Saltivskyi district. This assault was carried out using a 'Molniya' (Lightning) type unmanned aerial vehicle. Preliminary information indicates no casualties or significant damage were recorded from this specific strike.
Later in the evening, the city was again the target of a hostile drone. This time, the strike hit the Saltivka area, but, according to reports, there were again no casualties or major destruction.
Mass Attacks and Their Consequences
It is important to note that on the night of January 24, Kharkiv also endured a mass attack by 'Shahed' type strike drones. The primary impact during that assault was directed at the Industrial district, with damage also discovered in the Nemyshlianskyi district.
The types of UAVs involved in these attacks include the 'Molniya' and 'Shahed'. The districts of Kharkiv that have been targeted are:
- Saltivskyi district
- Saltivka
- Industrial district
- Nemyshlianskyi district
These reports underscore the continuation of hostilities in the region and the active use of unmanned aerial vehicles in the conflict. Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, has been a frequent target since the war's onset. Despite the absence of casualties in the recent attacks, the situation remains tense, and city authorities continue to implement measures to protect the population. The drone strikes on key districts of Kharkiv highlight the ongoing need for enhanced defensive mechanisms and ensuring civilian safety in the area.
