Kharkiv Falcons Land Kyiv-Basket Captain Klevzunyk in Major Roster Move

Denys Klevzunyk's Signing and Team Stability

The Kharkiv Falcons have officially signed Denys Klevzunyk, who will wear jersey number 12 for the upcoming season. Last season, Klevzunyk served as captain of Kyiv-Basket, leading the team to win the Ukrainian Cup and secure silver medals in the SuperLeague. His standout performances earned him spots on the symbolic teams of both the Ukrainian Cup and the SuperLeague season, underscoring his elite-level play.

Klevzunyk posted impressive numbers in the SuperLeague last season, averaging 14.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. He ranked among the top ten most efficient players in the league, highlighting his significant impact on the court.

Ukraine National Basketball Team Performance

On the national team front, Ukraine fell to Spain in the fourth round of qualifying for the 2027 FIBA World Cup. The game ended 78:64 in favor of Spain. Ukraine also lost to Spain in the third qualifying round, 86:66. However, in the second round, Ukraine defeated Denmark 88:71, and in the opening match of qualifying, they beat Georgia with a score of 92:79.
