Ukrainian Boy's Viral Catchphrase Helps Raise 20 Million for Military Drones and Vehicles

Вислів українського хлопчика став основою для збору 20 мільйонів на безпілотники та військову техніку.

The Rise of Matvii Brus

A nine-year-old Ukrainian boy named Matvii Brus has become a social media sensation, known for his viral phrase, 'Easter will come soon.' His influence, however, extends far beyond the internet. Since the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine, Matvii has been actively volunteering, raising funds to support the country's armed forces. This story highlights how the war has mobilized Ukrainians of all ages, including children, to contribute to the national defense effort.

The phrase 'Easter will come soon' was first uttered when Matvii was just five years old. Since then, he has become a recognizable media figure and a key part of volunteer initiatives. Together with his father, Volodymyr Brus, who runs a YouTube channel about farming, the family actively aids the front lines. To date, they have delivered over 1,500 FPV drones and more than 20 vehicles to Ukrainian soldiers.

Volunteer Impact and Social Influence

In total, the family has raised over 20 million hryvnias for the military.

“We've raised 100,000 hryvnias several times during a single broadcast. Altogether, we've managed to collect over 20 million hryvnias. People from all over Ukraine and even from America join us,”
notes Volodymyr Brus.

Matvii is not only dedicated to volunteering but also shows a keen interest in media.

“He really wants to be on camera; he sees me doing it and wants to as well. He isn't afraid of the camera, isn't shy, and behaves very openly—sometimes it even makes me feel awkward,”
adds his father. In this way, the boy not only promotes volunteerism but also sets an example for his peers.

This story underscores the critical role of volunteerism in Ukraine during the war and demonstrates how the younger generation can actively shape society. The efforts of Matvii Brus and his family prove that even the youngest citizens can become vital participants in supporting the military and charitable causes, inspiring others to do good during difficult times.
