Khmelnytskyi Region Implements 10-Stage Emergency Power Outage Schedule Following Presidential Meeting

У Хмельницькій області запровадили новий графік аварійних відключень електроенергії після зустрічі з Президентом.

Power Grid Situation in Khmelnytskyi

Due to a severe strain on the power grid, a 10-stage emergency outage schedule was introduced in the Khmelnytskyi region on January 15. This measure aims to optimize electricity consumption amidst a period of significantly increased demand. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy convened a special energy sector meeting to discuss grid stability and the steps being taken to secure the power supply. These outages are a direct consequence of Russia's systematic attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, which have crippled generation capacity.

New Rules for Residents

Under the new regulations, residents of the Khmelnytskyi region will be subject to scheduled hourly power cuts according to a previously published timetable. This structured approach is designed to allow energy operators to manage the load on the network more effectively.

The local utility, Khmelnytskoblenergo, has appealed to citizens to minimize electricity use, particularly during the peak evening hours from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, to help the system cope with high demand. The company stressed that reducing consumption is crucial for maintaining the stable operation of the region's energy infrastructure.

The implementation of this emergency schedule in Khmelnytskyi Oblast highlights the serious challenges facing Ukraine's national energy system, which is grappling with immense strain and the urgent need to optimize consumption. The coordinated efforts of local authorities and energy companies, coupled with public appeals for conservation, underscore the collective action required to ensure a stable power supply in the region.
