Khmelnytskyi has replenished its public transport fleet with four low-floor SOR NB 12 buses, which were provided by Prague along with the Prague 6 district. The vehicles will be handed over to the municipal enterprise 'Electrotrans' and will soon start operating on city routes. This is reported by the mayor Oleksandr Symchyshyn.
SOR NB 12 buses in Khmelnytskyi: what is known about the transfer
This transfer is already the second within the framework of cooperation with Czech partners. In 2024, the city received another five SOR NB buses that currently transport passengers daily.
According to Mayor Oleksandr Symchyshyn, in recent years, significant updates to the vehicle fleet have been achieved:

21 buses were brought in through international cooperation;

19 new buses were purchased with city funds;

4 buses were transferred to the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
The new SOR NB 12 buses are low-floor, which makes them more accessible for people with disabilities, elderly passengers, and parents with strollers.
Transport modernization in Khmelnytskyi: what has already appeared in the city
Public transport updates in the city are systematic. In addition to buses, recently trolleybuses have also replenished the fleet.
In particular:

On April 17, six new trolleybuses of Ukrainian production were presented in Khmelnytskyi;

the new electric transport is already operating on the city streets;

the authorities continue to seek opportunities to update the fleet through partnerships.
Thus, the city is gradually modernizing the transportation system by combining purchases and international assistance.
As a reminder, the 'Khmelnytskyi' basketball club became the champion of the men's Higher League for the 2025/26 season.
