The legendary Italian footballer Roberto Baggio shared his memories of the 1994 World Cup, which took place in nine American cities.
In 2026, the World Cup will be held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Baggio noted that the heat significantly affected that tournament and expressed gratitude for the support of the football team.
“The entire World Cup – not just our matches – was influenced by the heat. It was unimaginable. We had to push beyond human limits. But, despite everything, we were driven by passion and the desire to achieve results, and many Italians living there as immigrants were proud of us. The team felt this. It was an additional incentive to overcome obstacles.”
In the final of the tournament, Italy lost to Brazil, falling behind in the penalty shootout, and it was Baggio who failed to score the penalty.
“I wanted to die at that moment. That's how it felt.”
The Club World Cup is approaching the quarterfinal stage. The match schedule lists the team pairs and match dates. The start of the new season for the Dynamo team in the second qualifying round of the Champions League is also noted.

The first match of Dynamo will be played on the opponent's field. The second match will be at the home stadium of Kyiv residents.
