Influenza and COVID-19 Incidence in Ukraine: Why the Epidemic Threshold Has Not Been Exceeded

Підвищення захворюваності на грип та COVID-19 в Україні: аналіз ситуації та причини стабільності епідемічного порогу.

During the week of November 10-16, 109,645 people fell ill with influenza, COVID-19, and other acute respiratory viral infections in Ukraine, including 62,698 children. A total of 2,712 adults and 1,584 children were hospitalized—all patients received the necessary medical assistance. Compared to the previous week, the number of cases increased by 2.7%, but the epidemic threshold has not been exceeded in any region—the situation remains stable.

Influenza usually starts with a sudden rise in temperature, followed by cough, runny nose, and sore throat. COVID-19 often begins with respiratory symptoms, and fever rises later. During the illness, it is important to take care of your loved ones: stay at home, use individual dishes, and wash your hands thoroughly. At the first signs of illness, contact your family doctor and avoid self-medication.

Take care of your health and that of your loved ones.

During the epidemic season 2025/2026, the number of patients with influenza, COVID-19, and other acute respiratory viral infections increased significantly in Ukraine, particularly among children. However, no significant epidemiological danger has been detected, and the situation remains under control.
