Starting from January 1, 2026, vaccination against the human papillomavirus (HPV), which is one of the main causes of cervical cancer, will begin in Ukraine. This is an important measure to prevent oncological diseases, as vaccination is already successfully used in many countries around the world. The program will start with girls aged 12–13 years to ensure the highest level of protection before the onset of sexual activity. The Medical Procurement of Ukraine (MPU) has already purchased a new 9-valent vaccine that effectively protects against nine types of the virus, including those that cause most cases of cervical cancer.

Thus, vaccination against HPV will be available for Ukrainian girls starting from next year, which is an important step in the fight against oncological diseases.
