Foreigners choose to fight for Ukraine not for money, but for ideals and a belief in the justice of the war. According to the commander, most members of the Second International Legion have motivations and values that make them extraordinary. Even though the Russian army offers a higher salary, many foreign volunteers choose to serve in the Ukrainian battalion and go into battle, saying 'Glory to Ukraine'.

According to the battalion commander, while a potential salary of around 100,000 hryvnias per month can be a significant motivator, many volunteers ended up here not for the money. Volunteers understand the importance of their work on the front line, helping to stabilize the situation in the most dangerous areas of the country.

Alexander Yakimovich emphasized that all members of the battalion are volunteers who consciously chose to serve in the army. They are ready to carry out missions to protect Ukraine and help end the conflict in the east of the country.
