Car imports to Ukraine increased by 20%: who is the leader among suppliers

Ukraine continues to actively increase the import of passenger cars. From January to August 2025, the number of imported cars, both new and used, reached 258.3 thousand units. This is 20% more than in the same period of the previous year. The total customs value of imported cars amounted to 3.7 billion US dollars, which is 25% higher than the figure of the previous year. Experts explain this growth by the increase in import volumes as well as the rise in car prices in global markets.

'Stable demand for foreign cars in Ukraine indicates the activity of the domestic market, but also highlights the high dependence of the vehicle fleet on imports,' experts from 'Ukravtoprom' noted.

The largest supplier of passenger cars to Ukraine remains Germany, from which 56.9 thousand cars were imported. The USA and China also made it into the top three leaders, supplying 45.9 thousand and 27.1 thousand cars respectively.

The top 10 countries supplying passenger cars to Ukraine also include Japan, South Korea, France, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Mexico, and Slovakia. This trend looks positive against the backdrop of the automotive transport market development in Ukraine and indicates an increased popularity of foreign cars among our compatriots.
