Detention of a foreigner for transporting conscripts across the border
A foreigner attempted to transport seven men of conscription age across the border with Moldova in a truck with beer but was detained by law enforcement officers. The incident occurred at the 'Mamaliga' checkpoint, where law enforcement discovered illegal activities and apprehended the offender.
According to information, the foreigner received between 6,000 and 13,000 euros for transporting one man. During the search, law enforcement confiscated 34,000 euros, indicating the significant scale of his operations. The detention took place as part of special measures aimed at combating illegal migration.
Legal responsibility and consequences
The foreigner was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. He was also charged under part three of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for liability for organizing the illegal transportation of persons across the state border. Under this article, the detainee faces imprisonment for up to 9 years. Law enforcement continues to investigate the case.
