List of Conditions for a Peace Agreement

Through Pakistani intermediaries, Iran has formally submitted a six-point list of demands to the United States as prerequisites for a peace agreement. These conditions include the lifting of sanctions and the withdrawal of American troops. The document outlining these requirements was delivered to Washington via Pakistan’s diplomatic channels. As of now, the United States has not issued an official response to these terms.

The conditions put forward by Iran in its peace proposal are as follows:

  • Removal of all U.S. sanctions imposed on Iran;
  • Unfreezing of Iranian assets held abroad;
  • Ending the naval blockade of the country;
  • Cessation of hostilities across all fronts, including in Lebanon;
  • Withdrawal of American forces from areas near Iran’s borders;
  • Waiving claims for war reparations in exchange for economic concessions from the United States.

Readiness for Negotiations

Additionally, Iran has expressed willingness to transfer 400 kilograms of enriched uranium to Russia and has agreed to a long-term freeze of its nuclear program, rather than its complete dismantlement. Tehran has insisted on a prolonged, phased ceasefire accompanied by political guarantees. These moves indicate a readiness on Iran’s part to engage in dialogue and explore avenues for reducing regional tensions.

The relationship between Iran and the United States remains fraught, given longstanding disputes over Iran’s nuclear ambitions and the sanctions imposed by Washington. This latest proposal could mark a pivotal moment in potential negotiations, should the U.S. decide to respond. The next steps taken by both nations will likely have significant implications for stability in the Middle East and the broader international order.

While Iran has outlined its demands for a peace agreement, skepticism remains regarding the U.S. response. This uncertainty is compounded by previous interactions, as Tehran has expressed doubts about the sincerity of American offers.
