Tel Aviv Attack and Israeli Response
An Iranian missile barrage targeting the Tel Aviv area has left more than 20 people wounded. Among the casualties, one person sustained critical injuries and another was seriously hurt. Three people suffered moderate wounds, while 16 others received minor injuries. The injured include three children, who were taken to Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv.
In response to the assault, Israel launched a significant number of interceptor missiles against the wave of Iranian rockets. At least one rocket struck the Tel Aviv district, causing a powerful explosion. On February 28, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced the start of a preemptive strike against Iran. A series of explosions were subsequently reported in Tehran following this statement.
Regional Escalation
Separately, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the commencement of a combat operation in Iran. He stated the operation's goal was to 'protect the American people by eliminating the immediate threat posed by the Iranian regime.' Trump also emphasized that the United States would 'destroy their missiles and level their missile industry.' These events mark a significant escalation in the long-standing regional rivalry between Israel and Iran.
The intensifying conflict between Israel and Iran raises grave concerns about a further spiral of violence in the region. The military actions undertaken by both sides risk additional civilian casualties and threaten to destabilize the broader Middle East. The international community's response will be a critical factor in determining the future course of this crisis.
