Tourism Forecast for Spain
Following a record year in 2025 with 97 million visitors, Spain anticipates further growth in tourist arrivals for 2026. This 2025 figure represented a 3.5% increase over 2024, significantly boosting the national economy. Tourism revenue rose by nearly 7% in 2025, reaching a total of 135 billion euros.
Spain's tourism sector is a cornerstone of its economy, accounting for roughly 13% of the country's Gross Domestic Product. Projections for the first months of 2026 suggest the country will welcome around 26 million international visitors, who are expected to spend over 35 billion euros throughout the year.
Jordi Hereu highlighted that Spain expects a continued increase in foreign tourist arrivals in 2026, underscoring the positive trends within the country's tourism sector.
