Life of Ukrainian soldiers at the front
57-year-old Oleksandr Khomenko, known as 'Historian', a junior sergeant of the 'Svoboda' battalion of the 'Rubizh' National Guard brigade, spoke about the daily challenges faced by soldiers stationed at the forefront near enemy forces.
In his interview with 'Hlavkom', Khomenko shared information about how they receive essential items for life, such as food, medicine, and fuel. Soldiers often receive supplies from drones that deliver bags of food, water, first aid kits, and other items to the front.
“The praise in the field is a single-use item. They are supplied exclusively by volunteers. We stack the used ones in a corner – it’s something that will be of no further use. Unless you throw it at the Moskals like a brick, if the ammo runs out,” Khomenko jokes.
Food and daily life at the front
Soldiers at the front receive a limited assortment of food, as the drone delivery may damage the products. Mainly, soldiers receive dried meat, sausages, energy bars, instant noodles, dried fruits, and other products. They eagerly await coffee, tea, and cigarettes.
To protect bottles of water from breaking, they are wrapped in several layers of film, making them heavy for the drone. Soldiers heat hot food on miniature stoves while trying to deliver belts and other necessary items to the front using drones.
The life of Ukrainian soldiers at the front is filled with challenges; however, thanks to concerned volunteers and the assistance of drones, soldiers manage to receive essential vital items that help them endure the hardships of combat units.
