The Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) has recently become a widely discussed topic due to arrests and searches conducted without a court order. However, according to legal experts, in the case of investigating state treason, these actions are justified. People's Deputy Serhiy Vlasenko noted that the use of Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine allows NABU and SAP to conduct searches and arrests without court orders.
Experts believe that in circumstances where there are possible connections with Russia or other countries and subjects of state treason, searches without a court order have a basis. Law enforcement agencies also often use this norm, emphasizing the prevention of information leaks during the investigation of corruption cases.
