Jerry Heil Criticizes Organizers of the 2026 Eurovision National Selection

Ukrainian singer Jerry Heil, who is a participant in the national selection for Eurovision 2026, has publicly criticized the event's organizers. The competition was won by the musical group LELÉKA with their song 'Ridnym'. The band received a perfect score, earning 10 points from the professional jury and 10 points from the public vote for a total of 20 points.

Jerry Heil, who competed with her song 'Catharticus', stated that her performance would not be presented in its full capacity. This remark highlights her dissatisfaction with the selection process and its management. The Eurovision Song Contest is a major international event, and national selections often generate significant public debate.

“My performance will not be presented in its full capacity.”

Heil's criticism suggests that not all participants are content with the conditions and procedures of the Eurovision selection. Discussions about the quality of organization and transparency of the process may become an important aspect of future developments, as this affects the image of the national competition.

The winning group, LELÉKA, has been active for nearly a decade and is based in Berlin. Their music blends Ukrainian folk motifs with jazz arrangements. The band will represent Ukraine in the second half of the second semi-final, scheduled for May 14.

LELÉKA's victory, representing a fusion of traditional and contemporary music, could open new avenues for promoting Ukrainian culture on the international stage.
