High-Level EU Delegation to Visit Kyiv

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has announced that EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, along with foreign ministers from EU member states, will visit Kyiv on March 31 for a ministerial meeting. This high-level diplomatic engagement coincides with the somber anniversary of the Bucha tragedy, adding significant weight to the discussions. The visit underscores the EU's sustained diplomatic focus on Ukraine amidst the ongoing war.

“On March 31, we will be pleased to welcome EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas and the foreign ministers of EU member states to Kyiv for a ministerial meeting.”

The agenda for the meeting is set to cover several critical areas, including:

  • Continued European Union support for Ukraine;
  • Increasing pressure on Russia;
  • Efforts to achieve peace and ensure long-term stability in Europe.

“Russia must be held accountable for its war crimes. Accountability is a necessary condition for achieving a just and lasting peace.”

The arrival of top EU officials in Kyiv on the anniversary of the Bucha massacre powerfully symbolizes European solidarity with Ukraine and highlights the imperative of justice for wartime atrocities. The meeting is expected to reinforce international pressure on Russia while intensifying diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict. It may also serve as a platform to discuss new initiatives aimed at strengthening Ukraine's international standing and enhancing European security.

As the EU delegation prepares for its significant meeting in Kyiv, it's worth noting that just days earlier, foreign ministers will gather in Bucha to commemorate the anniversary of its liberation. This special session highlights the ongoing European commitment to Ukraine and the need for continued dialogue and action in support of peace and accountability in the region.
