Amendments to the Rules for Organizing and Maintaining Military Registration
Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers has approved amendments to the official procedure that governs how military registration is organized and maintained. Under the updated rules, Ukrainian businesses, institutions, and organizations can now submit military registration data about their employees online through the Diia portal. Diia is Ukraine's government services platform for digital documents and online administrative procedures. This change ends the earlier requirement for employers to deliver paper-based employee lists for annual reconciliation, making the entire process of checking and updating records much simpler.
What the New System Offers and How It Works
The revised rules allow employers to report the following details electronically:
- hiring of new staff,
- termination of employment,
- changes to an employee's surname, and
- updates on place of residence.
If an employer submits this information online, there is no need to provide a separate paper copy. This significantly cuts the administrative burden on companies and makes military record-keeping more straightforward.
To use the online service, an employer must log in to the Diia portal, enter the required details, and sign the submission with an electronic signature. Data about a worker being hired or dismissed will be reflected in the Unified State Register of Conscripts, Persons Liable for Military Service, and Reservists (known as Oberih) within 72 hours. That means military recruitment offices will have timely access to accurate, up-to-date information.
As a result, Ukrainian companies can manage military records for their employees more efficiently, saving both time and resources that were previously spent on paperwork.
