A new mechanism for donating military relics
Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers has approved a procedure for handing over destroyed Russian military equipment to museums abroad at no cost. The initiative was put forward by Ukraine's Defense Ministry and Culture Ministry, with the goal of displaying the captured hardware in museum exhibits or special exhibitions.
The donated items will include T-72 tanks that were seized on the battlefield. The receiving institutions will be museums in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Denmark, and the Netherlands, and the transfer will be completely free of charge.

According to the government, all equipment selected for transfer has been stripped of combat capability and contains no explosive materials, making it safe for public display. This initiative is part of Ukraine's broader effort to keep the reality of Moscow's invasion in front of international audiences.
Raising awareness and building international support
The project is also intended to support global documentation of the destruction caused by Russia's war against Ukraine. Working alongside other state institutions, the Defense Ministry is expanding outreach about Russia's armed aggression and helping to sustain international solidarity with Ukraine.
By placing destroyed Russian equipment in foreign museums, Ukraine is giving the world a tangible reminder of the war's consequences and the identity of the aggressor. The effort may also deepen cultural ties between Ukraine and the countries hosting the exhibits, while creating a new venue for discussions on international security and historical memory.
