Ukrainian Cabinet Meeting Highlights

At today's session, Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers focused on speeding up governance changes in state-owned enterprises and banks. The supervisory board of NNPC Energoatom has been instructed to promptly implement prior government decisions and launch a tender for a new management board within one week. Economy Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko commented:

“We expect greater speed and accountability in fulfilling the assigned tasks.” – Yuliia Svyrydenko

Additionally, the Ministry of Finance, in coordination with the National Bank of Ukraine, has been tasked with assessing the performance of Sense Bank's governing bodies and fast-tracking its privatization. “The bank must be privatized this year. If necessary, personnel changes should also be made,” Svyrydenko added. Ukrgasbank has also been designated a priority for privatization, with preparatory steps already underway.

Reform Momentum Builds

This Cabinet meeting signals a renewed push for reforms in the management of state-controlled financial institutions, a critical move toward improving their operational efficiency. Accelerating decision-making and enforcing accountability in state companies and banks could enhance Ukraine's investment climate and attract fresh capital.
