Young Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinina surprised everyone with her victory at the tournament in France. After a six-month break from competitive sports, she returned with great strength, winning the title at the WTA 125 Open BLS de Limoges. Her game was simply incredible - five victories and impressive endurance on the courts of Limoges.
In the semifinals, she defeated the top-seeded Kristina Buksha 2-0, and in the final, she managed to clinch victory against Elsa Jacquemot after a tense confrontation with a score of 2-1.
“This victory marked Kalinina's second title at the WTA125 level in her career, repeating her success in this same city three years ago.”
Thanks to this victory, Angelina climbed nearly thirty positions in the WTA rankings and is now in 127th place. An impressive result!
In the Australian Open season, four Ukrainian tennis players are represented: Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremska, and Oleksandra Oliynykova. Angelina Kalinina decided not to use her protected ranking to participate in the tournament, but this does not diminish her achievements and talent on the court.
