Advancing Energy Technology with Major Investment

Kanin Energy has successfully raised $100 million to deploy innovative technology that converts industrial waste heat into electricity without relying on additional fuel sources. This initiative spans operations in Canada and the United States, targeting industries such as oil and gas, cement manufacturing, steel production, and metallurgy. The company’s approach leverages the Organic Rankine Cycle, a technology capable of cutting industrial energy losses by up to 58%.

Project Scale and Business Model

The funding includes $50 million from S2G Investments and another $50 million from the Canadian Economic Growth Fund. Kanin Energy currently manages projects totaling approximately 50 MW capacity, with notable installations serving the University of Dayton and Mewbourn WHP in Colorado.

Through its Energy-as-a-Service model, Kanin Energy offers industrial clients access to this infrastructure without requiring upfront capital investment. Their systems reliably generate base-load electricity for factories and local consumers alike, driving down energy expenses across various sectors. This strategy supports broader goals of sustainability and improved energy efficiency.

The significant capital infusion into Kanin Energy marks a pivotal moment for the energy sector’s shift toward sustainable and cleaner power solutions.
