Karol Nawrocki Became the President of Poland
Karol Nawrocki has officially taken the office of President of Poland, having sworn an oath and delivered his first speech in this role. This is reported by the publication 'Hlavkom' citing WP Wiadomości.
«By accepting the post of President of the Republic of Poland at the will of the people, I solemnly swear that I will uphold the provisions of the Constitution, firmly defend the dignity of the people, the independence and security of the state, and the welfare of the homeland and the well-being of citizens will always be my highest duty. May God help me», - noted Nawrocki.
It is noted that the presidential oath is one of the key moments in the political life of Poland. It is taken during the first session of the Sejm after the elections, before the National Assembly, which consists of the combined chambers of the Sejm and the Senate. It is from this moment that the term of the head of state begins.
The Importance of the Opposition Candidate's Victory
It should be recalled that the Supreme Court of Poland officially confirmed the victory of opposition candidate Karol Nawrocki in the presidential elections that took place last month, despite numerous complaints about violations during the voting.
The newly elected President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, expressed his position on Ukraine's accession to the European Union, agreeing that Poland should support Ukraine from a strategic and geopolitical perspective, as the most serious threat to Warsaw is Russia.
It is noted that this victory of the opposition candidate is significant for the political situation in Poland and may also affect the country's relations with Ukraine and Russia.
