In Poland, the first cases of fraud associated with the issuance of CUKR residence cards for Ukrainian citizens who are in the country under temporary protection have been recorded. Some intermediaries are offering Ukrainians «help» in gathering documents for a fee, although officially, applications will only be accepted online and free of charge. This is reported by In Poland.
The Office for Foreigners reminds that from July 1, 2024, Ukrainians can obtain a card marked «Previously used temporary protection» for a period of three years.
However, the application process is not yet open: the system for online submission is in progress, and no paper documents are currently being accepted. At the same time, fraudsters are offering «document package preparation» for a fee, misleading people.
What is important for Ukrainians to know about CUKR
-
No paper forms are accepted;
-
Paid «intermediary services» are not needed;
-
Official cost: 340 zlotys for application + 100 zlotys for card issuance.
The authorities emphasize: the application submission will be free, only state fees are paid. Ukrainians are urged to verify information only through official sources — the Office for Foreigners, voivodeship offices, or the consular department of the Embassy of Ukraine.
Why this is relevant to many Ukrainians in Poland
There are a large number of Ukrainians in Poland under temporary protection, so fraudsters are trying to take advantage of the situation. The government reminds: you should not trust private «helpers» and give them documents or money — the procedure is transparent, and the application will be submitted independently through the official service.
Earlier, we wrote that Ukrainians working in Poland cannot submit documents for the CUKR card due to the absence of an online portal for application submission by the Polish government. Basic conditions are already known: the main requirement is continuous residence in Poland from June 4, 2025.
