Watermelons in markets are twice cheaper than in supermarkets: a detailed comparative analysis

In September, Ukrainians have the opportunity to compare prices for watermelons and melons in supermarkets and markets. According to data from the zakaz.ua website and the Kyiv market, prices for these sunny fruits can vary significantly.



During the watermelon and melon season, many buyers face the question - where to buy these tasty fruits: in supermarkets or at markets? Price plays an important role, especially when one wants to enjoy seasonal delicacies without limits.



The analysis of current prices shows a noticeable difference between trade formats. Supermarkets offer a wide assortment of melon crops - from classic round watermelons to exotic yellow melons and organic varieties.


Among the prices in chain stores, watermelons can cost from 20 to 60 hryvnias per kilogram, depending on the variety and producer. Melons are also presented here in a wide price range - from Uzbek melons at 72 hryvnias to organic ones at 79 hryvnias per kilogram.



In markets, the situation changes dramatically. Ukrainian watermelons can be found for 12-18 hryvnias per kilogram, which is two to three times cheaper than in supermarkets.


Markets also offer Ukrainian melons for 25-45 hryvnias and Uzbek ones for 45-55 hryvnias per kilogram. Such prices can significantly save money for buyers who love these sunny delicacies.



In September, prices for watermelons and melons can vary significantly from supermarkets to markets. It is necessary to carefully study the market and choose the optimal purchasing option to enjoy delicious fruits at affordable prices.
