The state fuel cashback program, which started on March 20, will operate only until the end of April and will end on May 1. Ukrainians still have time to receive partial reimbursement for refueling at gas stations. This is reported by “NV”.

Cashback on fuel: reimbursement amounts and conditions

Under the program, the state returns part of the expenses for various types of fuel:

  • 15% for diesel

  • 10% for gasoline

  • 5% for autogas.

The maximum refund amount is up to 1000 UAH per month for one person. Importantly, this money cannot be withdrawn in cash, but can be spent cashless.

To receive reimbursement, one needs to:

  • obtain a special “National Cashback” card from a partner bank

  • pay for fuel specifically with this card

  • receive cashback and use it for permitted purchases.

Cashback is credited the next day after refueling, and the payment is received by the end of the next month. For example, the money for March purchases will be credited by the end of April.

Cashback program: where restrictions apply

An important condition is that the reimbursement is credited only after actual payment at the gas station with a fiscal receipt. If purchasing fuel through mobile applications of gas stations, cashback is not provided.

The funds received can only be used within designated categories:

  • public utilities and postal services

  • charity and support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine

  • food products

  • medications and medical goods

  • books produced in Ukraine.

The introduction of the program is associated with rising fuel prices due to instability in supplies and geopolitical factors. The initiative was instructed to prepare by Volodymyr Zelensky to partially compensate drivers' expenses.

Earlier we reported that the network of gas stations Ukrnafta plans to expand its presence to 700 facilities across Ukraine. This process includes integration with Ukrgazvidobuvannya, which will allow transforming 21 U.Go gas stations located in Poltava and Kharkiv regions into stations under the Ukrnafta brand.
