Kyiv Residents Receive False Emergency Power Outage Alert

Мешканці Києва отримали помилкове сповіщення про відключення електроенергії.

Emergency Power Cuts in Kyiv: A False Alarm

On June 30, residents of Kyiv received a notification through the 'Kyiv Digital' app warning of emergency power outages. However, energy provider DTEK later clarified that the alert was sent in error, and the city continues to follow previously announced rolling blackout schedules.

As of the morning of June 30, approximately 600 settlements across eight regions in Ukraine were without electricity. This was a result of severe weather on June 29, which had prompted energy officials to warn of possible disruptions in Kyiv and the surrounding region. Meanwhile, on June 30, scheduled power outage rotations remained in effect across all regions of Ukraine.

Current Electricity Supply Situation

The erroneous notification received on June 30 stated that stabilization blackout schedules would be temporarily suspended to provide urgent relief to the energy grid. It was later determined that this message was not accurate.

Ukraine's electricity supply situation remains challenging due to weather conditions and the ongoing need to maintain grid stability. Rolling blackouts have been implemented to reduce strain on the network and prevent emergencies. It is crucial for consumers to stay informed about changes in power supply, as these directly affect daily life and activity planning.
