Kyiv Man Sentenced to 5 Years in Prison for Injuring Wife Over Jealousy
A 55-year-old Kyiv man has been sentenced for inflicting serious bodily injury on his wife during a family quarrel fueled by jealousy. The man stabbed the woman three times in the neck and chest, resulting in severe injuries.
The conflict arose from messages the man discovered on his wife's phone, suspecting her of infidelity. The victim's sisters were called for help upon hearing her screams.
During the trial, the man admitted his guilt, expressed remorse, and pleaded for leniency in sentencing.
According to the verdict of the Darnytsia District Court, the man was sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment. During the pretrial investigation, he was held in police custody while the case was investigated by the detectives of the Darnytsia Police Department.
