To combat the icy conditions, the municipal service 'Kyivavtodor' deployed 258 pieces of specialized equipment and 408 workers organized into 61 manual clearing crews. Despite these significant efforts, the situation on the roads remained tense and difficult.
Hundreds Seek Medical Attention After Falls
Furthermore, city clinics are treating approximately 180 residents daily for slip-and-fall injuries. Roughly 20% of these cases require hospitalization, highlighting the dangerous impact of the ice on the capital's residents. With temperatures dropping to between 4 and 6 degrees below zero Celsius, authorities urge extreme caution for both drivers and pedestrians.
